Candy, Smiles and Prayers Delivered
We love and appreciate our teachers! As a way of showing our support to the teachers of Scott Lane Elementary, we delivered 55 gift bags to all the teachers and staff of the school.
Each bag contained gifts of chocolate candy, pretzels, sharpies, pens, hand sanitizer, Kleenex, notepads, and of course - apples! On Sunday, August 18th, the bags were delivered to the desk of each staff member so that on Monday morning they would be welcomed with their gift on the first day of the school year. On each bag was an attached note expressing our appreciation for their work and offering our prayers for this upcoming school year.
Kimberly Stephens, a member of SCFBC and a teacher at Scott Lane, passed along this message of thanks to us:
I had a ton of teachers come up to me today to express their thanks for the bags. Some said, "The chocolate got me through the day!" or "Candy on the first day of school! This is the best!"
Many thanks to Trudy Kroll and Shari Burdick for putting the bags together. Thanks also goes out to Kimberly and Matt Stephens, Peggy Shalloe, Melinda and Jayden Lutz, and Josie and Jason Hammar for helping with the delivery.
SCFBC has an ongoing relationship with the Scott Lane community and is committed to serving and blessing the teachers, students and families of the school as part of our outreach to them. Many more opportunities to serve and bless Scott Lane Elementary will be coming your way this school year! Be looking for ways you can be "Here to Serve."
