Diaconate Chair

Can you believe it? We are now two-thirds of the way through 2013! SCFBC has come a long way since the first of the year. We have seen both youth and adults follow Christ in baptism, more people requesting membership, and an increase in both attendance and giving.
One of the prescriptions we accepted last October calls for the church to streamline and modernize its leadership and governance system. Therefore the Diaconate has been working to create new Bylaws to replace our current Constitution, taking into consideration the guidelines suggested by our church consultant, Dr. Bill Hoyt. Three focus groups were held in mid-August where the questions of those in attendance were addressed and suggestions were made for improving the Bylaws. These suggestions will be considered at the September 7th Diaconate meeting.
