Youth Pastor
August 2017
This year’s annual summer youth retreat theme was "The Golden Rule," from Matthew 7:12, “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” The second part of "The Golden Rule" is from Luke 10:27, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself."
Eighteen youth and six mentors packed the church van with camping equipment and food then headed for Mount Madonna County Park July 14-16. They pitched tents and set up camp, shared meals, played crazy and fun games, hiked, picked fresh strawberries and made strawberry shortcake, and worshiped God and studied His Word. They were challenged by the Holy Spirit to examine their own hearts and to be transparent in their faith and everyday life. Our retreat goal was to get away from the distractions of the world and to get closer to God and each other, which we accomplished.
Congratulations to the following youth who rededicated their lives to Christ: Michael, Ryan, Kevin, Jackson, Max, Josie, Ayla and Naomi. Please pray for God's blessings to rest upon them as they grow in faith and in their service to others.
