Redwood Glen is Operating its New Water System
Yes, that's right. It has been 1,684 days since the water first stopped flowing from Memorial Park, and Redwood Glen began the search for a potable water source.
Yesterday, January 22, 2019, somewhere around 1:45 p.m., Eric Lacy and Samantha Mak from the California State Water Resources Control Board gave consent to Andrew Gonsalves, Redwood Glen's water treatment operator, and Chad Plantenberg, project coordinator, to allow the water treatment facility to provide water for Redwood Glen.
Water from both Hoffman and Piney Creeks is now flowing through the system, providing potable water for all residents and guests. A celebration was enjoyed by some staff and board members, along with the SRT engineering crew, by lifting a glass of...water.
The costs for this project, and the many years of paying for hauled-in water, comes to well over $1.6 million. But thanks to the many, many friends of Redwood Glen who have donated to the cause, and "the tightening of our belts," over $1.25 million was raised to help cover the expense.
