Redwood Glen mourns the loss of its very first camp director. The Rev. J. Bryant Wright passed away on February 16, 2019, at the age of 95. In 1955, he and his new bride, Jane, moved from Philadelphia to California, where Reverend Bryant became the Director of Christian Education and Camping for the American Baptist Union of the San Francisco Bay area. He was part of the crew that negotiated the purchase of the 165-acre property now known as Redwood Glen. After his time here, Bryant served at the First Baptist Church of Menlo Park, and the First Baptist Church of San Carlos until his retirement in 1993.
