Crisis Creates Opportunity

During this current health crisis, we have the opportunity to share with others the most powerful and significant message there is: The Gospel.

As believers in God’s presence in the world and that His desire is for everyone to know His love, He is creating opportunities for us to share the Gospel’s message of hope, as well as its deliverance from the fear and uncertainty that so many people feel every day.

I also believe that this crisis brings with it new ways to show the world – both locally and globally – that we, SCFBC, are a family of God dedicated to the care of all who are in need of hope and the assurance of eternal life.

As we pray for and serve others, I also believe that the crisis can bring more people to know and accept Jesus as their Savior. And that they will feel more connected to God.

Who Are We and Why Are We Disciples Of Jesus?

We Are A House Of Prayer: For all nations and of all nations.

“...Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations?'" Mark 11:17 NKJV

We Connect People To God

We are here to “Connect real people to the real experience of real love.”

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Real people have real-life problems, and God is the only source of the real solutions that we are searching for and now need so much.

We Live and Work For God’s Glory

As a church, we worship God and serve only Him. And we live only for His glory.

“Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him." Isaiah 43:7

We Focus on Families And The Call To Discipleship

At SCFBC, the physical well-being and steadfast faith of every adult, young person, and child are foremost in our thoughts and actions. To keep us on that path, God instructed your pastor that the church should be:

  1. Rooted in the Word.
  2. Rooted in Prayer.
  3. Rooted in Discipleship.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.” Matthew 8:19-20

The Church’s Commitment to Children

  • KIDZONE: Every child matters to us because all children matter to God. “Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.’” Matthew 19:13-14

Our church is building and shaping the character of our children one kid at a time. To learn more about KIDZONE, please visit http://www.scfbc.org/children.cfm.

The Church's Commitment to Our Youth

  • VIBE: The number one goal of the church for our youth is to serve our youth and to help them live their faith.

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Timothy 1:6-7

The church’s group for youth – VIBE – leads them to understand that God truly loves them. VIBE also focuses on sharing God’s love with their friends outside the church who have yet to experience the presence of God in their lives. You can learn more about VIBE at http://www.scfbc.org/high-school.htm.

The Church’s Commitment to Learning

  • LIFE GROUPS: Our church is dedicated to the growth of our faith. As a community that serves as the presence of God in the community, we “Do Life Together.” There are Life Groups for ALL AGES and they are designed to fulfill a wide range of interests. For instance, we encourage you to learn about FHHL (Forgive, Heal, Hope, Love) if you are a young adult, and Yo Pro if you are a young professional. We encourage you to join a Life Group and become stronger in your knowledge of the Bible and your faith.

Jesus led a small group of disciples. It is good for us to remember that Jesus called a small group to follow and learn from Him. For more information about Life Groups, please visit http://www.scfbc.org/life-groups.cfm.

The Church’s Spiritual DNA

The spiritual DNA of SCFC is based on the transmission of the inherent traits of Jesus Christ our Lord to others. We are committed to:

  1. Following Christ’s COMMANDMENTS
  2. Fulfilling Christ’s COMMISSION
  3. Showing Christ’s COMPASSION
  4. Growing Christ’s CHURCH
  5. Living the Likeness of CHRIST
