Connection Team
May 2022

Congratulations!

Let's congratulate Victor and Jose on their baptisms on Easter Sunday, April 17th.

Also please welcome our new SCFBC members: Eric, Benoy, Kesiya, Mizuho, and Dave, who received the Right Hand of Fellowship on Easter Sunday, April 17th.

Also, the following six people completed the Membership Class in April, and have asked to become members here at Santa Clara First Baptist Church: Joe, Soraya, Jason, Dong, Daniel, and Dianna. They will receive their Right Hand of Fellowship this month or in June.

Next Membership Class

Pastor Valui will hold another Membership Class on Sunday, May 15th. The class will be in the pastor's office, Room 27, from 9:15 A.M. to 10:15 A.M. Refreshments will be provided. The Membership Class is a good way to learn more about Santa Clara Baptist Church and to meet new people. Please contact either Pastor Valui at valui@scfbc.org or Trudy at office@scfbc.org to let them know you want to attend the class on Sunday morning, May 15th.

With Regrets we tell you -

The church was recently notified that Nina A. Nieckarz (1931-2021), a twenty-year member of SCFBC, and a sixty-year resident of Santa Clara, passed away on February 27, 2021. Nina taught school for thirty years, but her passion was gardening and attending American Baptist Women functions. Services were not held due to COVID restrictions.

Jim Lovelace (1924-2022), a member at SCFBC for fifty-five years, and a long-time resident of Santa Clara, held many Deacon positions over the years and taught Bible classes. Jim passed away after a long illness on March 27, 2022. At his request, services were not held.

Mike T. Jones (1952-2022), a frequent visitor and friend to SCFBC members, was a long-time resident in the Bay Area. He was a retired Associate Pastor and once served as a Director at San Jose CityTeam. While giving the eulogy at Mike's recent "Celebration of Life," his nephew said that Mike liked the saying, "If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours," and he lived his life that way. His passions were telling people about the Lord and teaching people how to play chess. Mike entered into eternal rest on March 13, 2022.
